2013 Main MarathonThe Maine Marathon is coming up on October 6, 2013, and registration is capped at 3,500. There’s also a half marathon run as part of the event, which costs $60. The full marathon is $85, while the marathon relay is $140. Proceeds from the race benefit Strive, which is an organization that helps young adults with disabilities.

The course is a bit different this year, due to construction on Martin’s Point Bridge, which runs in between Portland and Falmouth.

In addition, there’s a Kid’s Maine Marathon Mile the day before on October 5, 2013. It’s a one-mile run for kids from the ages of seven to 12, while there’s a fun run for kids from the ages of four to six that starts 15 minutes ahead of time. Any participating children who raise more than $100 for the event will be entered into a drawing for a valuable prize.

2013 North Face Endurance ChallengeThe North Face Endurance Challenge in Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park in Pine Mountain, GA, will be a stout test of trail runners on September 28 and 29, 2013.

On Saturday, a marathon goes off at 9 a.m., while a 50K starts at 7 a.m. and a Gore-Tex 50 Mile race begins at 5 a.m. On Sunday, a half marathon begins at 8 a.m., while a 10K starts at 9 a.m. and a 5K begins at 9:15 a.m. There’s also a kids run on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

Registration is available online (click here), with prices ranging from $50 to $125, depending on the event that you are registering for. 2013 Lake Tahoe MarathonThere’s a lot going on during Lake Tahoe Marathon Week in late September in South Lake Tahoe, CA. The marathon itself is slated for September 29, 2013, while there are other events throughout the week in the vacation town in California. Given Lake Tahoe’s reputation, some of the great scenery surrounding the marathon should come as no surprise. There are other events held on September 27 and September 28.

There is a deadline of September 6 for those who wish to have their name on their race bib. You can click on the link above to get more information about the event. One of the cool bonuses in this event is that race photos are included in the fee, and a photography company will be there all three days. There will be free printed photographs at the finish line and free digital images sent out via email after the race.
