Get to Know Your Neighborhood Trails on the Jingle Bell Trail Run!
Peachtree City, Georgia’s annual Jingle Bell Trail 5K is coming up! Peachtree City boasts over a hundred miles of mixed-use “golf cart trails.” Theses paved paths snake around through the woods all over this beautiful community. You can easily get lost in a southern wooded paradise, for miles and miles.
Because there’s not much in the way of marking and signage on the trails, it can be really easy to lose your way on the trails. That can be a bit intimidating for a new runner. Often, runners who are new to the area end up running along heavily trafficked roads instead of in the trail network because they’re scared of getting lost.
GPS is great and all, but you don’t want to have your eyes glued to your phone the whole time when you’re running. It presents a safety hazard, for one thing. Golf carts and bicycles travel a lot faster than you and can come out of nowhere. You don’t want to get hit!
You also don’t want to be stuck looking at your phone for direction when you could be looking around you at all of the beautiful trees. Nature is all around you, and part of the fun of running is getting to see it.
So how do you safely run the trails without getting lost or hit by a golf cart or bicycle? Why not start off with an organized run? The Peachtree City Running Club puts this super fun 5K on every year. It’s a great way to meet other runners, get to know the trails, and have a great time, too!
Are you ready to get off busy roads and onto the trails? Are you ready to meet other runners and have a great Christmas-themed run? Sign up for the Jingle Bell Trail run today!
